ON THE ROAD LESS TRAVELED, THE FIRST STEP IS THE HARDEST:
Into the most divided country in human history, India in the 1940’s, comes an American idealist. Based on the true story of Thomas Anderson, a conscientious objector during World War 2 who volunteers to become a Red Cross medic. When Thomas betrays his vow “never to kill” in the jungle war in Burma, he can’t bring himself to return home in shame to the woman he loves. Living from drink to drink in the dive bars of Calcutta, he meets an inspiring Indian doctor and spiritual guide who offers him a unique path to redemption through caring for the sick and hungry during the Great Famine of Bengal in 1943. To follow that path Ray will have to leave behind everything he knows and loves. When his fiancé shockingly arrives in India to try to bring him back to The States, they are both challenged to learn great lessons of sacrifice and unconditional love.
